Change of Plans

I did not go to Argentina as I had planned.  Instead I am in Tampa and my friend whom I was going to meet in Cordoba is coming here on Thursday.  I will stay here a little longer and then travel up to Valdosta to visit before returning to Asia

  1. EH! Just caught up on your blogalog. Mighty fine stuff. Brought back a pack (:-) of mixed memories from 40 years ago when we were just starting out, you with the flying business and me, too. Of course, I was flying from exotic Taiwan, Okinawa, Japan, Guam, and Thailand -- just south from Pattaya past Sattahip where the USAF had a base called Utapao, still visible on GMaps. I also flew a few sorties in/out of Than Son Nhat, Saigon. My routes stretched over Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, South Vietnam, and most days ended at the "fence" around North Vietnam. I spent many hours in the Gulf of Tonkin. My Daddy (he's doing well and is with us in PA now...his 90th is in August) was stationed at Nha Trang, now one of the top ten places on Earth to retire. He was sappered, rocketed, and shot at during his 369 days in country. I would love to return someday to experience peace in SEA. Maybe after the monsoons next year we will find our way to the Far East. For now, you enjoy your friends from Cordoba and tell everybody in Valdosta we said "Hey." AVR
